The new FC-12 is the perfect way to control to your performances with the Axe-Fx III. This tough next-gen controller offers an impressive suite of features and capabilities, incorporating years of innovation and customer feedback. It looks great too, making an awesome addition to your stage or studio.
The FC-12 is designed to be easy to use while granting extreme flexibility. For those who want simplicity, the unit is virtually plug-and-play. Use the “Master Layout Menu” to select from “Layouts” — pages of footswitches arranged in familiar and intuitive ways. On each layout, the LED rings change color to show switch functions and statuses (on/off/dim), while “smart” mini-LCDs eliminate guesswork (and the need for labels!) with an automatic readout for each switch.
For simple changes, use new “EZ Mode” to modify any switch in seconds. Just tap and turn to select from the many different ways to control presets, banks, scenes, effects, channels, tuner, tempo, looper, control switches, and more.
Such simplicity does not come at the cost of flexibility. Creative users can design and build their dream controller with ease. You can modify layouts with any arrangement of tap and hold functions, customize mini-display text, and more. You can even override the functions of individual footswitches on a per-preset basis.
- 12 SSS™ switches are extremely quiet and durable, with no mechanical switch contacts to fail.
- Plug-and-play with smart default settings, or create your own custom Layouts.
- Switch Layouts on the fly using switches or the “Master Layout Menu”.
- Daisy-Chain up to four FC units for bigger setups.

- FASLINK™ II port for connecting to an Axe-Fx III. (Axe-Fx II not supported).

I must say after using the FC12 for about 5 minutes I was just amazed. I works flawlessly with the Axe III, it is truly plug and play. The best part is no extra cables, just connect it to the Axe III and it provides the power.
This pedalboard was an amazing addition to my Axe Fx III, I just didn't realize it until I started using it outside the studio.
I purchased the FC-12 as part of a package deal with the Axe Fx III. I debated going with the FC-6 but it was such a good deal I thought why not get the most flexibility I can? This foot controller is built like a tank. When you step on it, you definitely don't feel like you're going to break anything which is great since it's such an integral part of the rig. The FC-12 provides SO much functionality. It can be configured through Axe-Edit to switch between presets, scenes, effects, and other key things that a player would need. Each button can be configured with a press-release function, but also a hold function. For example - when looking at my presets, if I hold down any button, it takes me to the Scenes layout and every screen on the FC-12 then displays the name of a Scene I can easily switch to. I also have a button assigned to the Effects layout - hitting that while in any Scene will give me access to all of the effects that I can then control individually. The screen is big and easy to read - when you switch the tuner on you get a nice display on the FC-12 in case you can't get to the actual unit or see it clearly - very helpful. What REALLY great is that if you are using only one FC-12, you plug it into the III with a standard XLR cable which gives it power - super useful. If you decide you need two FC-12s, you would need to get a power supply for the other one. Not an issue for my application though so it's great to not have to have another power cord on stage. if thinking about purchasing, download the manual and give it a read - may be hard to digest some of it without having it in front of you but what I will say is that if you decide to go with the FC-12, you'll be happy with how much config you can do and if you're looking at it for a live show, it will really help to reduce the thinking you have to do to get to the sound you want and let you focus more on playing after you get it set up.
This foot controller looks good, is solidly built, and works great. With its controllably bright data displays, colorfully bright switch indicators as well as 12 soft switches, it is a dream to use and has enough real estate to limit the need for changing the layout to get to a needed control mid song. I also love how Fractal decided to use an XLR cable to connect the FC to the AxeFX, as Cat-5 (et al) cables can have such a short lifespan when not tucked behind a desk, for a computer. A fitting member of the Fractal team!
The FC-12 is amazingly flexible and you can customize it to be anything you want. But its default programming is so good, I don't think it needs a thing.
FAS really made sure to consider all aspects of a solid UI with the FC-12. I was using a MIDI controller before to control scene changes, but FC-12 is so much easier to use and program. It really does cut down on the frustration and lets you just focus on playing more. If you're gonna be controlling the Axe III with a controller, the FC controllers are definitely worth it.
I thought the MFC-101 was the cat's ass until I got my FC-12. Amazing!
